Sleek and Sophisticated, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is Ready to Take on the Kia Stinger GT-Line

What's better than an eye-catching and sporty coupe, with its low-slung roofline and sleek profile? How about a car that embodies that personality, but also comes with four doors and comfortable seating for five people? Whereas most sporty coupe cars have two doors and a cramped interior for four, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe presents the best of both worlds, a sporty coupe with a comfy sedan. Let The Automaster BMW tell you more.

The BMW 4 Series is a popular model line for our customers in the greater Williston and Burlington area. Versatile and highly customizable, it offers drivers the choice between the stylish Gran Coupe sedan, a two-door traditional coupe, and a two-door convertible.

If you're interested in the 4 Series Gran Coupe, and you're weighing options between it and similarly styled, competing models, we want to help. Here, we've put it side by side next to the Kia Stinger GT-Line. As you'll see, while the two cars appear to have a lot in common on the surface, a deeper dive reveals where the BMW model comes out ahead.

Interior Standard Features and Options

From safety, to comfort, to tech, the BMW 4 Series has a number of the sought-after features that our customers from the Hanover, NH area expect on their new luxury car. But while both the Kia Stinger GT-Line and the 4 Series Gran Coupe can boast similar standard features such as navigation and smartphone integration, the BMW model has a few extra amenities standard that are only optional for the Kia. They include:

  • A sunroof
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Automatically dimming mirrors
  • Power-adjustable front seats (the Kia only has a power driver's seat standard)
  • Satellite radio

Meanwhile, when it comes to safety features, the BMW also gets a win over the Kia. The 4 Series Gran Coupe gets automatic, rain-sensing windshield wipers standard, and it also has parking sensors on both ends of the car listed as standard. But the Stinger GT-Line only gets standard parking sensors in the rear.

Performance

BMW models are renowned for their impressive performance and handling, and the 4 Series Gran Coupe is no exception. There are two engine options available for this model and style, and both will leave you feeling engaged and exhilarated. They include:

  • A base, turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque
  • An upgraded, turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-four that offers 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque

Comparatively, the Kia Stinger GT-Line, as the base model for its lineup, only has one engine option available, with no opportunity to upgrade for more power. Coming in at 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, it offers a slightly higher power rating than the base 4 Series system, but it can't compete with the available upgrade option.

Plus, not only does the BMW have a greater maximum power and more engines to choose from, but it can also take you further on a tank of gas than the Kia Stinger. For example, the 4 Series Gran Coupe averages 28 mpg combined, compared to 25 mpg combined for the Kia. Additionally, the BMW has a smaller fuel tank but a greater range of miles per fill up, with 390 miles in the city and 530 miles on the highway, while the Kia averages just 350 miles in the city and 509 miles highway per fill up in its larger tank.
